That IS a showpiece, that's for sure.
In the last couple of hours, we added new members from the pretzel and beer capitals of midwest America. Honestly, the chances of that are........?
Welcome

You found the right spot, philatello. Most of us are in the same boat. Gone are the days when every corner drug store had an assortment of stamp packets and everywhere you looked you found fellow collectors. Now I drive 60 miles to attend club meetings and often only a few others show.
But here we have a lot of friendly "faces" and the discussion board is very active. I have filled many, many holes in my general collection (pre 1940 WW) and even a few high dollar holes in my US collection. No telling what you will find among the members here.

There are collectors in Milwaukee. Try going to a stamp show or google stamp clubs in Milwaukee. I know your area has several shows a year. I never thought I would join any sort of club myself, but I have belonged to several local stamp clubs in Minnesota in the last 15 years. I have made many friends through stamps collecting and it has become a big part of my social life. For some reason going to that first meeting is tough for most of us. Stamp collectors tend to be kind of introverted. Bust out of your safety zone and give it a try.
Welcome aboard Philatello. Thanks for sharing that gorgeous showpiece of the Jenny.

Hello and welcome Philatello!
Greetings to all. I'm an avid collector here in Milwaukee, with a special focus on US mint and used singles, mint plate blocks, FDCs and FFCs; mint singles from Canada and the provinces; and mint and used singles from Scandinavia, Germany and Turkey. Other than those collections that command my particular attention, I have (like most here, no doubt) thousands of issues from other countries rattling around in various vintage albums, stockbooks, cigar boxes and glassines, all accumulated in fits of hopeful optimism at auctions and sales.
Of all the above, I'm especially pleased with my collection of US airpost plateblocks and PN singles. I have several acquisitions still to make, and there are many that surely I'll never make, but the photo here is of what I consider the showpiece of the lot.
Sadly, I have no friends or colleagues who share my interest in philately, which leaves me without a trading partner or companion to learn from and with. I'm pretty much on my own in that regard, so a group such as this serves as a nice resource for information and exchange of thoughts. I look forward to availing myself of the collected experience of the members here.
