The Penny Black, first produced in 1840, was printed in sheets of 240 stamps, in sheets 12 stamps wide and 20 stamps deep. Each stamp was uniquely labelled with its position on the sheet by placing the row (A to T) and the column (A to L) in the left and right bottom corners respectively. Many of our members in Stamporama have one or more Penny Blacks in their collection. Between us all we hope to be able to build a whole sheet of 240 stamps. The table below represents a sheet of stamps with each of the positions labelled "AA" to "TL". As a member identifies that she/he has a stamp, we will change the background of the cell in the table to yellow. If you run your mouse over the cell in the table and hold it there for a moment, you will see who owns that stamp. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
