It's a sugar tax revenue stamp.
Okay I got that. Do you know if Scott has given it a number? Or is there a section I should be looking for in the catalogue for Sugar Tax?
Other than the revenue section, of which I still didn't see it.
Revenue stamps are not listed in the standard catalogs.
Hi purrfin2,
This is a general revenue stamp from Ecuador, Forbin #71.
I don't believe it had anything to do with sugar. Sucre was the currency.
Thank you for your help!
Hi Nigel, been a little while.
Forbin? I've not heard of this. Time for me to scope it out.
Thanks
Neat little book on line. Thanks again
Hi purrfin2,
Forbin was the last whole world revenue stamp catalogue and the last edition was way back in 1915.
Revenue Collector hosts an indexed copy online which you can access for a small one-off fee.
It's a useful source of information for a lot of these old stamps.
I googled forbin stamp catalogue and was able to look at the whole book. When I tried a search on xfinity, there's no link. I have it saved on google.
I do have two other Ecuadorian stamps that are driving me nuts trying to find them. Hopefully you can guide me to where I might accomplish it?
Thank you.....

Hello,
Was wondering if anybody could help me ID this stamp. My eyes just wont let me see where it is located. I see the overprint, but not just the plain stamp.
Thanks in advance
