Hello,

My name is Howard and I live in Borehamwood, U.K. I started collecting as a child and then restarted about eight years ago. My collecting interests are varied and include G.B., U.S.A., U.N., Biafra, Katanga and South Kasai (the secessionist states of Africa), Airlines on stamps (a toe into thematics), and philatelic literature. I am also updating an old general world collection. Today, I added some Cape of Good Hope stamps to it.

I am also a philatelic author. I wrote and published a booklet called The Philatelic Filmography in 2007.

Last week, I published my new 401 page A4 book. It is titled Stamps and Stamp Collecting in Popular Culture and is about stamps and stamp collecting in literature (novels, poetry, comics), plays, music, movies, television and radio etc. If stamps or philately are in the story or seen in a movie or tv programme, then it will be in my book.

The book also lists non-fiction documentaries, television programmes and even news items on stamps and philately.

The book covers the whole world with most entries from the U.S. & U.K. and has items from 1839 to 2014. It will appeal to all collectors, whether beginners, experts, single country collectors or topical philatelists.

It has taken me about four years to research and write it.
Thanks
Howard
