I was wondering if anyone here uses the Minkus Global albums. I just bought the Supreme, and I intend to house my collection in it. Does anyone here have some insight into using these albums?

re: Calling All Collectors Who Use Minkus Global (Supreme or Master) Albums!

I have the Minkus Master Global for WW, I prefer the Minkus as airmail, semi-postal's, dues etc.. are not sent to BOB and some better stamp coverage exists especially with the Supreme vs the Scott International.I feel that I am a bit deep into the Master with the number of stamps hanging on the pages to upgrade to the Supreme,so for now the Master works well for me. Get a Minkus catalog, as using Scott numbers with the Minkus format can be a challenge when filling holes.

I picked up a 1971 Minkus WW two volume catalog on ebay, this has made filling them holes with the correct stamps much easier.

Daniel, there's a whole big post about these albums in the General Philatelic Discussion Board. You might want to check it out.

The few Minkus WW catalogs I have seen available online say, Minkus WW stamp catalog Volume Two, parts I and II" but I can't seem to find out what years this includes and what the "parts" refer to?

Anybody know?

Chris-

Check amazon.com for book listings, while searching for "Minkus catalog".

There definitely are Volume 1 and a Volume 2 WW catalogs existing into the 1970s. Sometimes they seem to be split up into part 1 or 2. (There are also regional and country catalogs available, but I was looking for the WW catalog offerings to go along with the Minkus Supreme pages.)

There is also mentioned a Volume 3 catalog? for some 1960s editions. I don't know if the later 1970s volumes cover that, or if one needs to also get volume 3 for complete coverage. Confused

I think I saw that Vol 1 was U.S. and British Commonwealth and Vol 2 was all other countries...

The breakdown between Volumes is not by years.
One is essentially Europe and Colonies, the other USA, UK and Commonwealth, and the Americas.
The listings would go up to about six or eight months prior to the indicated year of issue.
The background information provided is much more inclusive than Scott's Catalogs. I think my copies are from the early '70s.
