Whereabouts does he live? I have some introductory books that are perfect for kids and I'd be happy to send them to him, if he's somewhere I can reasonably send it to without too much cost for postage? You may respond here or private message me. It would be my pleasure to send them to him. Also if you let me know what country(ies) he is interested in, I'll see if I have anything to assist him. I have a Canadian paperback album for kids that I used when I was younger and have moved my stamps away from there. If he is interested in Canadian stamps, I'd be happy to include it along with some Canadian stamps to help him start out.

Thom, if you will send me either his or your address, I'll also send some things that are more for juniors. They can become his young library. PM or SOR message me (unless you don't mind it being for all to see).

Here is something produced by the Canadian Stamp Dealers Association (of which I am a member) for anyone interested in helping kids get a start:

Hey Dave, if you post the list, then we can keep an eye out for such items from box lots and such and give them to kids when someone asks in the future.
Don't overlook the American Philatelic Society. They have a very active youth section and many portions of its youth services are available online even for non-members.

My 7 year old nephew wants to begin collecting. He lives far away do I send him things for his collection. I wanted to know which intro level how to book I should buy him. It should contain a guide on identifying countries so his parents can help him out. Thom
