Obtained this cover the other day. Thought it would be interesting. Inmates, with nothing to do, sometime draw on envelopes they send to family members. They usually consist of religious themes or reminders of their life before prison. The back of the cover is stamped, "Official Inmate Correspondence, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division".

That is an interesting cover that would be kept in my collection.

Which is why I bought this one this week...

re: Texas Inmate Cover

i have a small collection of inmate covers; they are fascinating in many ways. I started it when I was editing a men's magazine; I received many submissions from inmates, some with quite good work, most with stories to tell. Now, I get the occasional through work looking for psychological assistance (seems most prisons offer little here, if inmate correspondence is to be believed) and some from a missionary who does God's work in prisons via stamps.

thanks for showcasing these two covers.

John Gacy? Really? That's just creepy! Several years ago I read, or tried to read, a book about Gacy, and had to quit in the chapter where police were digging up, well, digging in, his cellar. And people think I'm weird for collecting war material! Angel

Hi Everyone;

I would never keep a cover from that filthy animal!!!

Yea, you are right on Bob that cover is very creepy and so is that monster.

I lived in Des Plaines, when all the discoveries about this animal were made. He is so creepy that
Criminal Minds even shows his ugly face on the intro.

It was also surmised that several construction sites he was involved with had young boys bodies cast
into the cement foundations, but I can't remember if they ever busted them up to see, or used x-rays
to look inside.

Burn that cover!!!!! Any creature that touched it is cursed by his evil!

disgusted and creeped out....

A Big Thank you to Mel! He sent me a private message offering to send the inmate cover to me since I had admired it. It came in the mail this past week while I was away in Salt Lake City.

Thank you very much!
