Can some helpful soul please tell me what the difference is between these two stamps? The catalogue says 'improper wiping' and I'm unsure exactly what that might mean and how I might identify it. Thanks so much for any help :-).

re: Difference between 926 and 926i

The improper wiping causes large very light smears/blotches of blue, most noticeable on the margins -- giving the appearance of "bluish paper" from the front. Unfortunately, it doesn't show up well on most pictures that I've seen, and I don't have a stamp to scan for you. Maybe another member can provide a good pic.

re: Difference between 926 and 926i

I just emailed you a link to a page showing a picture of 926i. I didn't post the link, because it is a sales site. The picture is not that good, but should give you a rough idea of what the bluish colored paper surface will look like.
