I know these stamps are found mint for cheap and there are alot of different ones. But sometimes these German stamps are scarce on cover. How about this one from Baden to Canada with the French Censorship label and letter written in German inside.

I'm going to try to translate a bit of it.

i love it that the writer places Canada within the US. Actually, we tried that, and failed, 200 years ago.

If anyone would like to try to translate the German, please feel free. I did translate some of the letter and it is talkinga bout family matters. At one point, it says that " at least they all survived except for one brother who was killed in Tubingen."

I tried to translate the first page :

Engen May 22nd 1946

Dear cousine Maria!
Since it is now again permitted to our relatives
to write to america I want to write a little letter. We
have thought a lot about you and are happy that we now
be able to hear from each other again. We are still all
alive, except brother Hans, he was on quite unexpectedly
died on june 8th, 1942 in the clinic in tübingen on
Tetanus. He has a son Hermann twenty-two years old, who also had to go to war and is missing since Jan. 1945. His wife is now all alone.
The war years were hard for us and I am happy
that Uncle Martin didn't have to live to see it all.
We still have our Hans and our apartment too
