Here is an interesting Third Reich cover, recently obtained. The cover is from the NSKK (Das Nationalsozialistische Kraftfahrkorps) or motorized branch of the Nazi party, in this case the Rudolstadt offices. It is addressed to an Obertrüppführer in Saalfeld.

The cover was postmarked in Rudolstadt on February 29, 1940.

Little by little as has been noted here and elsewhere, I am building a collection of these covers that were issued by many, many NSDAP offices and affiliates using the NSDAP official stamps for postage.

One can find covers from the Hitler Youth branches, the female equivalent offices, the film offices, propaganda offices, etc. Considering that the Nazis ruled Germany for over 12 years, these covers are not necessarily rare which I like since I enjoy finding them, particularly, as any collector acknowldeges, covers for branch offices that do not reside in my collection.

Currently, I would like to find covers from NSDAP offices prior to the Nazi assumption of power in 1933. Has anyone seen this type of pre-government cover? I would imagine that such covers are harder to find than covers mailed between 1933-1945.

The hunt is on,
Bruce
