Hi. this is a package of 65 stamps that appear to be in very good condition. Has never been opened. Any idea what this may be worth? thanks. I truly appreciate your time and effort it takes to respond. Have a great day Happy

It appears to be very common stamps mainly from 1940-1960.
Catalog value would indicate about $15 but the actual value would be maybe $2-$3

Many of the stamps in the packet are CTOs, probably with gum. Often the companies which assembled these packets used a glassine type material with adhesive similar to that used for hinges upon which to mount the stamps displayed. Over time, especially if exposed to heat or pressure, the stamps become fused to the mounting material and one another. Of course the used stamps can be soaked apart, but any unused stamps therein may be damaged. The only way to find out is to open the package and sort the stamps. The packaging does not add any value to the stamps (IMHO anyway).

It also looks like some discolouring of the stamps has already occurred, but it might just be the glassine that's discoloured. In any event, Bobby is correct: the packaging not only adds no value, but may have already lowered any value that the stamps might have had. Get 'em out of there!
