Thank you Mike, do not think I would ever have thought of looking in Oman, seems like I will have to get the rest of them now. But at least they are cheap!
I was beginning to think someone had been playing with their home printing set.
Many thanks for a quick response.

Stanley Gibbons refers to these stamps as "British Postal Agencies in Eastern Arabia".
At various times they were used in Oman, Qatar, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait (and also occasionally in Bahrain).
Unfortunately I suspect that more were bought for collections by UK collectors than were actually used in the Sheikdoms. Finding examples with demonstrable cancellations applied in Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Kuwait would be a "find." At least for me.
Do you think that the upside down queen is intentional, as in making a political statement?

Have just come across this while sorting, thoughts as to whether genuine or fake as 1d old money does not equal 6p decimal.
Stamp is unused but hinged.
