I've never done business with those folks. Sorry guthrum.
Someone on Stamp Community Forum has had dealings with them in May this year, with pretty much the same concerns as you. From the primitive site, probably just a one-man operation. Maybe on vacation?

Well, my stamps arrived this morning, less than two weeks after the order, and only a day after another consignment from a dealer in Germany, ordered at the same time. The latter took the trouble to email me twice, once to say my order had arrived, and again to say it was on its way. Mr Loral ignored my first request for confirmation and actually rebounded my second (equivalent of 'not known at this address')!
But both have arrived safe and sound. Different ways of doing customer relations, I guess.
Oh, I now have a nice used 4 x 6 block of 60c. red George Washington stamps! (I don't collect US, so cannot identify these doubtless common stamps any further.) I don't suppose anyone would like them...?
I am sadly, familiar with this firm. After making several orders to them and having them arrive incomplete with short sets and defective material; the owner evaded supplying some missing stamps from my last order by claiming he had already mailed them- which he never did. I sort of kept putting up with this level of service as this is one of the few outlets for Russian material. A good place to stay away from IMO.
So, anybody know about Loral Stamps, out of Flushing NY? More particularly, why they don't care to answer emails about stamp orders? Or are they just totally silent until your order flops through the letterbox 6 weeks later? (It's been two weeks, and all I was asking was for confirmation that they had received the order.)
