Hi Baz; welcome! I am 59 years old known to my 14 year old goddaughter as "cheesy" (I wonder why; I'm lactose intolerant!).
Be sure to post any questions and share about your collection.
Cheers,
Peter
Welcome to our world, glad to have you in.
Nicer still to have another Englishman around, too few of us at present.
Good that you don't write with an accent or we would never understand the Northern lingo.
There is a wealth of knowledge here, free for the asking and no question is to simple or obvious so ask away and be sure to make use of the search function.

Lol, thanks guys.
Yes the Geordie dialect can be hard to understand. " When the boat comes in" was a good example.
Welcome to you Baz and your lovely avatar.
Welcome, Baz
Enjoy your time here. We have 2881 nice members and one old curmudgeon (but I only growl, I don't bite - honest!).
Hey Baz, welcome

David

Hi Baz
I've been to Newcastle-Upon-Tyne twice. It's a beautiful area, the people are so friendly and outgoing. I loved it. I want to go back. The friend I had gone to visit, has long since passed away, but we had great times walking around all over the place. I was there just before the Millennium Bridge was finished and again after it was done. So I got to walk across it.
My friend lived in Byker, and his niece lives in Wallsend, but I think I saw almost every area, and learned a little about each place.
I think the best memory was sharing a cheese sandwich that was made on a whole stotty cake and wrapped tightly so that it held together really firmly when sliced. The texture of the stotty cake was fabulous. Nothing like it here. I've tried to make one, but just not the same. I didn't try to bounce it.
I was also a member of the Heaton Bingo Club for a couple of years too. Not that it did much good, with me living in Canada, but my friend Robert got my birthday bottle of wine. hehehe! At least I did get to play a few times, but didn't win anything. It was fun anyhow.
Well I hope you enjoy being a member here. I know I do. I've met a few members in person and talk to others online occasionally. I think it's the best place to come for stamps, stamp friends, and loads of good information.
Just want to introduce myself and say hello.
I am 53 years old known to my 13 year old daughter as grumpy. I live in the NE of England.
I am a newbie collecting mainly GB, but love looking at all aspects of Philately.
I have been lurking here for a while and realised what a very friendly and knowledgeable forum this is, especially for the newcomer (not all are ).
Anyway great to be here and I look forward to taking part in and learning from the discussion's.
Warmest Regards
Baz.
