re: Mozambique Company Question

" Even given their low values there are 3 known forgeries of this series called "Cross", "Seligmann" & "Bruckheimer" after the discoverers. The left one "appears" to have some Bruckheimer traits but without a better scan ...."

Thanks, I never thought about a forgery given the low catalog value

re: Mozambique Company Question

Don't let low catalog values fool you. In the forgery world, look at Iran. Plenty of low-valued stamps were forged for the packet trade.

Now you will find many counterfeits of lower-valued stamps.

Remember the terms:

forgery - defraud collectors

counterfeit - defraud a government

re: Mozambique Company Question

In the UK fake stamps created to fool postal authorities are usually called "postal forgeries". This is how Stanley Gibbons refer to them in their catalogues.
