I got several of these in a stamp box lot and was wondering about their history
and if anyone collects these. The image is from internet because I could not
upload scan as it was too large. My panels look similar but are not USPS panels,
but instead have only one mark on them and that is a small gold circle with a
picture of United States in the middle. They are made of heavy stock and measure
13in long by 10in wide.

Thanks

re: Stamp panels

Those are panels produced by the Postal Commemorative Society. They come in all sorts of flavors and were mass produced. They put that distinctive logo you described on some of their products.

While they are fun, and sometimes informative, they have minimal financial value to stamp collectors as the supply outweighs the demand. Difficult to sell because of shipping costs. I used to know dealers that had boxes of this stuff that they couldn't even give away.

On panels that have mint stamps, I use them for postage. They are fun as souvenirs if you have the space, and do make nice gifts to beginning collectors.

re: Stamp panels

I collect all of the panels and souvenier cards and find them interesting. I agree the shipping on them is high.
