Hi there,

I don't have a catalogue handy; but a friend of mine asked about a pair of stamps issued as part of a stamp and coin set by Canada. The $2 polar bear stamp comes in a pair, with the bottom stamp overprinted at the bottom with the outline of a polar bear and "2004-05-05 Ottawa ON" The top of the pair has no overprint. She doesn't have the coin that came with the set; but was wondering about current values for this pair of stamps. Does anyone have a Unitrade handy for a quick value quote?

Thanks in advance,

Andrejs

Andrejs:

No need for a Unitrade. The stamp and coin set came with a mint pair of $2 Polar Bear stamps. One was hand-cancelled with a fancy canceller from Canada Post. It is not overprinted, it is a CTO.

The mint stamp is worth the $2 for postage, the CTO stamp, 50-cents.

Cheers!

Thanks, David! I really appreciate the help. I'm not one for stamp and coin sets; so this one was beyond my usual radar. Should have worn my glasses to identify the CTO better. Nerd
