Good question,
I have lots of these postage dues (duplicates) but I have found it difficult and expensive to find the ones missing from my collection.
Also Identification can be a chore sometimes so mine are "on the back burner" - Steiner type pages, if available, would help..
Are the Postage dues listed in the Scott Cat?
cheers
Steve.
Scott lists the postage dues as a matter of course for all the countries they cover. Gibbons and other publishers do as well, and so does the publisher of the Seven Seas album series in their catalogs. They just do not provide for them in the albums. I recall emailing the publisher awhile back who replied explaining that these were dropped from coverage, apparently following a survey of their customers showed little interest. He suggested I place them on blank pages. They also do not stock page protectors or stock pages to fit their product line. You have to improvise.
They do have several tough stamps in that series but no more difficult than many they provide for, and- dues are provided for in the Austrian Colonies (States) album.
Just an anomaly I guess.
Snick and Stevo,
These issues have been the main focus of my collecting for over 30 years.
I am happy to answer any wueries you may have.
Scott is deficient in the way the 1909-1923 issues are treated (they don't separate the thick paper and thin paper listings). SG have a better listing but the best is, by far, Vol 10 of the Australian Commonwealth Specialists' Catalogue. A second edition published in 2014 will tell you nearly all you need to know about these issues.
I design my own pages for these issues, I am happy to share them with you if you think this would help.
Seven Seas produced a reasonably comprehansive set of pages for postage dues about 25 years ago, but only 200 were printed and they are hard to find these days.
G'day John
Good info and a generous offer...

Hi Guys
You have encouraged me to do something about my long neglected duty stamps so, I went looking among my old books and found this .....
.. Small booklet of about 25 pages - Looks like some good info.
And these stamps ... (and another half a dozen pages more)
... ...
Lots of identifying/sorting to do now ..
Cheers
Stevo
Steve,
The dues are the red and green nes at the bottom left, the rest are revenues. Dave Elsmore's site here: http://www.ozrevenues.com is the best reference point for these.
Victoria issued dues in 1890, NSW in 1891. Australia issued their first in July 1902 with the amended NSW design (but these were not valid for use in Victoria) and in 1909 the Victorian design was adapted for use all over Australia.
Thanks for the info John.
Steve.
Steve,
If you send a higher resolution scan of the postage dues, I can help you identify them.
John
These are the ones from the earlier page, I'll need to spend some time to do a preliminary sort and properly scan the other pages that were not shown previously. Should have some idea of what I'm doing by then..
The one with the green patch was badly torn and so discarded.
Cheers
Steve.
The stamps are (SG cat #s used):
Row 1: D64a, D113, D120, D113, D64, D120
Row 2: D113, D133a, D133a, D133, D113
Row 3: D122, D114, D107, D81, D107, D102
Row 4: ½d block D132/a, 2d D65a, D121.
Nice!
Is there some prejudice amongnst collectors in Australia toward these?
I ask because I use a 'Seven Seas' album for my collection and they do not provide for them in their albums. They used to apparently but no longer. I don't have any but it'd be nice to have space provided for them. I may just download some Steiner pages for them. I know they have some scarce ones so maybe they aren't popular due to financial considerations?
