I have the Souvenir Sheets (S/S) issued by each country for the 2007 International Polar Year joint issue with the U.S. I know other countries also issued stamps that year, but I am only concerned with the countries that were part of the offical joint issue.

Here are the S/S panes from the 8 participating countries:

I'm looking for additional issues by these countries for this particular joint release. I know of two:

1. Canada: In addition to the S/S 2205b, there was a pane of 16 (8 pairs of 2) of the same stamps(2205a).

2. US: Similar to Canada, but the sheet stamps are denominated at 41 cents.

Does anyone know of any other ancillary issues to these 2007 S/S panes?

Thanks for any info.

According to the Stanley Gibbons and Michel catalogues, it looks as if Denmark and Greenland issued the stamps separately as well as in the S/S, as they are separately numbered in those catalogues:

Denmark Mi 1459/60 B29; SG 1488-89 MS1490

Greenland Mi 485/86 B37; SG 523-24 MS525

Scott also has multiple numbers for those: 1372-73 for Denmark and 491-92 for Greenland. Has anyone seen multiples of those stamps that indicate they are not from the S/S? I have not.

Hi Lars,

According to Facit 2008 Special, the Greenland set was "printed in sheets of 50 and in blocks of 1+1".

There is no comment about this for the Danish set so maybe that was only available in the m/s.

Thanks, Nigel. I have to assume Denmark did something similar because Michel, SG, and Scott all issued individual majors for the stamps in the S/S for Canada, Denmark and Greenland while only issuing a major for the S/S itself for other countries.
