A-Ra's Page of the Day Part V has become pretty large for quick load times so today I'm starting Part VI.

For today the country is New Zealand I've always been rather fond of New Zealand but have never spent much time on it. In the last couple months I have started to concentrate on it, hoping to bring it up to a high percentage of completion. Shown are the first three pages, however all the Chalons are not shown.

re: A-Ra's Page of the Day Part VI

For today the Baltic country of Estonia A fairly easy and interesting country to collect there are just over 200 stamps issued in the pre Soviet era. As with the other Baltic countries the stamps have a flavor all there own which is quite different than other countries. Shown are the first two regular issue pages and a semi postal page.

For today the country of Ethiopia My early Ethiopia is very weak. Shown at the top of the first page is the first set of Ethiopia. After that set there are around 80 stamps of the same set that are overprinted with various prints. I've found these quite hard to come by and only have a few of them. Since I don't care much for overprinted stamps looking for them is low on my list. The pages shown are all regular issues.

re: A-Ra's Page of the Day Part VI

Around thirty years ago when I decided to get serious about collecting world wide, I found that the Minkus Globals I had would not be adequate. I decided the only way to go was Scott Specialty albums. However they are very expensive but I quickly found out that I could buy used ones with many stamps in them for less than new. I started searching every where for them until I finally had most all of them. Around 90% of my collection is now on Scott specialty pages with Steiner pages printed on Scott Specialty blank pages to extend year end dates. I could not find all the Specialty pages so I bought some countries on other brands like White Ace (Canada, Vatican), Lighthouse (Israel) and even a hand made Russian collection. All things considered my decision to do this was perfect for me and I would have not done it any other way. Now I mostly buy parts of collection to get one stamp or more that I need and then sell the better duplicates off. This usually results in getting 2-3 times out of the dupes than I paid for the lot and keeps my collection growing with little to no expense. It also keeps my collection in a constant state of upgrading as well as keeping me familiar with the stamps.

re: A-Ra's Page of the Day Part VI

Today Ajman A great many stamps have been printed without any postal authorization for Ajamn. These as well as others from countries or fantasies in the Gulf of Oman area are
unfavorably known as dunes. Shown on these first three pages of regular issues are the only regular stamps from Ajman that are considered authentic postage stamps as recognized by Scott.

re: A-Ra's Page of the Day Part VI

For today a rather short lived country that produced a lot of stamps; East Germany There were a great many early provisional issues which makes it confusing (to me) as to what are the very first issues. Shown is the first page according to Scott and a couple other early pages.
