The pinnacle of the engraver's art must be banknotes. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Nice find! When I was going through some of my late grandfather's boxes of jewelers tools and such, I came across an envelope that was stuffed with old US bills. All told there was something like $500 in all denominations up through $20, all old red seals and silver certificates. It looked like he saved every old bill he got in change or at his shop, since many of them were well used.
I had a bunch of bills in my old coin collection so I sorted through all of these and added the ones I didn't have to my collection. I bought clear plastic pages to put them all in an album. I sold a bunch of duplicates on eBay for a few dollars over face each.

Or it may be scripophily........... If nothing else, the scripophily is bigger!
Breathtaking!!!
Back in the 90s I was in a "fanclub" for Czeslaw Slania - the famous Polish stamp engraver. He came to our club meeting at the Columbian Expo in '92, so I was fortunate enough to meet him. I bought this from him at the meeting.
For some reason the scan added some strange rainbow effects - but you get the idea. He was quite an artist.
just a suggestion - but maybe one of our moderators could amend the title to say "the engraver's art" or something?
I was going through one of the last stockbooks in a collectors estate hoard I bought last summer and found these stashed in the back. The previous owner was retired military and I'm left to wonder if he might have picked these up in his travels. The one that I found especially interesting,(last 2 scans) was the one with all the signatures. Maybe his fellow soldiers?
I don't think any of them are extremely valuable, but they were a nice little bit of icing on the cake.
