Greetings, Travis, and welcome to the Greatest Board on Earth.
First things first. You simply MUST have a proper avatar -- one that is apropos to your user ID would be nice.
May I suggest...?
Cheers.

Welcome Travis. You came to the right place.
Stamps are a hobby for all ages, not just old men. But I confess it helps to be an old man, as you are likely to have more experience. And more money to buy stamps.
Cheers!
Eric
Hey Travis. Stamp collecting is a bit of an old man hobby. Whatever. It's just fun. ... Ted, I'm thinking more of a Mighty Mouse avatar deal....or maybe a super campy Adam West pic.

Or there's always this:
Although I think Tedski's is much more elegant!
Welcome Travis! I'm in the early 40's club, so I'm not ready to call myself an old man just yet! (although it is creeping up on me)

Welcome Travis,
Welcome. This is a very friendly place if you exclude a few old grouches (JK) .

It's great to see so many lively responses so quickly. And I love the suggestions for my avatar, but I think the caped crusader wins it this time.

Welcome aboard Travis.
Travis,
Good to meet you in the ether.
Enjoy your collecting, there is a lot of fun to be had.

Welcome, Travis.
We'll help you get organized, just send all your stamps to ...
Glad to meet you Travis, you're only as old as you feel.
Come to think of it, after a full weekend of clearing brush and doing yard work, that's not a great analogy.

A very warm welcome to you Travis. What most of us "old men" forgot to tell you is we all started collecting stamps at a much younger age, then usually put them aside for different aspects of life and have returned, with a profound addiction, to the hobby. Whatever you do, enjoy yourself and collect what interest you the most.

Hello everyone!
Just wanted to introduce myself. Recently got my hands on a few stamps and I've got to say they're a bit addictive. My wife says it's an old man hobby, but she just doesn't understand the appeal I suppose.
Currently I've acquired stamps from America, Germany, and China. Although at this point I'm open to any stamps that catch my fancy. My collection is small and unorganized so far but I'm hoping to grow and learn more.
Cheers,
Travis
