I'm not sure if this should go here or under US, but here goes. I bought this 99 cent post card that is apparently an Insurance bill mailed either from or to the Ryukyu Islands, on a Japanese post card. Down in the lower left corner is a vermillion handstamp that looks very similar to the Miyako District overprint used on the Japanese stamps that were the provisional issues early on. In the catalogs that I have, there is no indication that any Japanese postal stationary was overprinted. Hopefully someone here can help.

Sorry, I had to break that up into four images to make it fit.

I suggest you take this query to Stampboards. The resident Indian Feudatory States expert there is a professional translator in oriental languages - specifically Japanese - and while not an expert in Japanese philately his translation skills are awesome !
