I've been using a glue stick and had thought about using spray adhesive. Any better choices?

Thanks,

No don't do that ! My hands are sticky right now from using spray adhesive to mount posters on foam board. It's way too big a spray for a stamp. It will get all over everything. I did mine on a big cardboard box out on the deck. I wouldn't dream of spraying that in the house!

I had thought about that, but wondered if it would be hard to hold them in place until they dried. Some packages I send out, require 15-20 stamps each and some days I do 10-12 packages. Glue sticks are a mess. I thought maybe there might be a water soluble spray adhesive that would work.

Stick (pun intended) with the glue stick. Cleanest methodology.

If you put the stamps on the envelope the night before, the Elmer's Glue will be dry by morning. Also, don't put alot of glue on the stamp. Put a drop in the middle and spread the glue around the back of the stamp. That won't take much longer to dry than the stick glue.

ALWAYS spray paint, glue, etc. in a WELL ventilated area like outdoors!

You don't use gloves? Do you at least wear a mask so you don't breath in the overspray?

I agree with David - definitely stick with the glue stick. Dries super quickly and no fumes or aerosolized chemicals. I just bought a pack of 18 Avery Dennison glue sticks from Amazon for only around $6 and shipping was free with prime. I recycle old invoices to use as a work surface to glue on and toss them after one or two uses. No muss no fuss! And - the glue soaks off.

Elmer's Washable School Glue Sticks (W/disappearing Purple!)

A 10-pack - available at most any department store - cost me 4 bucks.

...and they dry very fast.

re: Unused Stamps w/o Gum

The Elmers glue sticks are what I've been using. I've had a little trouble with it releasing around the edges, but overall, it works fairly well. The glue sticks do create a mess, but I guess after doing about a hundred stamps any method's gonna get a bit messy.

My wife uses a product called "Tacky" glue for building residential design models. I haven't tried it on stamps, but the instant tack would be a plus. I'm not sure if it's soakable, either.

Thanks, I appreciate the input,
