General Philatelic/Newcomer Cnr : Great Britain Can someone please tell me what F and Q in each corner means?

I have what I believe to be Queen Victoria Wmk 18
Two pence, Blue, Plate # 6 But not sure.

Welcome to the world of Queen Victoria stamps of Great Britain!

The plate number is actually 9, not 6. Read the sideways plate number with the near side on top.

In the full pane of stamps (20 rows by 12 columns), each stamp position is identified by letter positions (see link provided by sheepshanks for layout).

The plate position is read starting from the lower left corner and then the lower right corner (the upper corners letters, when they exist, are the reverse of the lower corners). So you stamp would be plate position Q-F.
