Hello, my name is Larry (stampaddict). I would have done this sooner as suggested by Luree (purrfin2), however I became overwhelmed with a situation where I could not upload images to auctions. With the suggestions from, as Luree describes him, our magical webmaster, Tim and my banging away on the keyboard, a solution was found and now I have posted some listings for auction. If anyone is using Windows 10 OS, the best advice that I can come up with for uploading images is to use Microsoft Edge. Chrome and Foxfire do not work so well on Windows 10 to upload images to websites. Now that I have solved that mystery, I can direct my attention to introducing myself to this great community.

I would say that I am an intermediate to advanced collector. I have been collecting stamps since my grandfather introduced me to the hobby in 1964. Since then there have been so many stamps issued I felt it necessary to limit myself to just a few countries as I enjoy collecting whole country. The four countries that I collect the heaviest from are USA, Russia, Cuba and Japan. Other countries that I have a deep interest in are Hungary, Jamaica, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Germany, and Poland. I do have worldwide albums that I put stamps into as I acquire them and when I have duplicates, I put them up for auction or trade so that others may add to their collections.

Although I do post stamps for auction, I also entertain offers from those that would prefer to trade. The 2014 Scott Standard Postage Stamp Catalog is my reference for catalog numbers and prices. When trading I prefer to trade catalog value for catalog value. Sometimes this means that I may have to exchange several stamps for just one stamp from my want list. This helps keep the duplication of stamps to a minimum and to give me room to add more stamps to my collections. I do have want lists from the four major countries I collect from and can provide them upon request.

I look forward to contributing to this community and am positive that I will enjoy my newfound family.

Welcome aboard Larry. Glad you got things figured out!
I collected World Wide and U.S. as a pup, but now try to focus on Great Britain and Australia. That said, Hong Kong, KUT (Kenya Uganda Tanganyika), Mauritius, and Antarctica stamps are starting to show up in my collection. Any stamp with a Queen or King on it gets past the velvet rope.

Cheers!
Eric

Hey Larry,

I'll have to check out your dups for Jamaica. Just started growing that album.

Welcome aboard Larry. I also found out a long time ago that the world is just to big to hold my interest, but prefer to collect small portions of it. Enjoy your time here.
