Ink stripping (aka white face) is cause by unsatisfactory ink together with shallow engraving lines leading to ink stripping when the wiper went over the plate.

The first of the King George VI ink stripped stamps is the very scarce “white wattles".

1937 (white wattles), 1938 (thick paper), 1938 (thin paper),

1938 (Queen Elizabeth), 1941 (war tax)

Any future ink stripped stamps will be added to this thread.
