It is in Lyon, in Place Bellecour, on the corner of Rue Gasparin.

(Wish I could say I've been there, but this is all up to setting myself an Internet challenge -as well as avoiding work - once I read Guthrum's post)

Here's some detail of the tablet behind the sculpture, which may be what you were looking for:
And a Google 'translation':
"At the corner of Rue Gasparin, was erected in 1948 a monument to five young resistance shot by the Gestapo July 27, 1944 in this place where the Moulin-Ã -Vent was, coffee shop where an attack had occurred the previous day causing no casualties.
The monument, called "the Stone Watcher," consists in the foreground of a large male character shown standing naked and leaning on a large triangular shield hit the cross of Lorraine and the Phrygian cap.
At the back of the sculpture in the cutaway of the wall, under a frieze Cross of Lorraine and Phrygian caps, plate gives the name of the young slaughtered ( "Albert Chambonnet / Pierre Chirat / Gilbert Dru / Leon Pfeiffer / René Bernard / July 27, 1944 "), an exhortation to passersby (" passing will tell the world / they died / for freedom ") and a long list of places of arrest in the Rhône, internment camps France and concentration camps throughout Europe. The five shot had been arrested and detained before the attack and are not the authors."
That is brilliant! Many thanks, Darryl and Clive.
It's not a particularly distinguished sculpture, and does not appear to have an internet presence, which suggests it is no longer there. But where? The clue of "le 69" suggests a Lyon restaurant of that name, but a trip along the rue de Gerland with the little yellow man on Google Earth reveals a very different frontage.
Naturally the reverse of this fdc postcard reveals nothing.
Anyone know anything about this memorial, or where it was?
