Not sure which member initially posted this, but a company Quensio is conducting for Deutsche Post a study on international mail delivery (oh those super-efficient Germans!) They just mail you a letter every now and then and you go on line to confirm receipt.

You get points but I don't know yet what you need to get an item - or what they are. But anyway, I've been doing this for a few months and I (pathetically perhaps) look forward to getting their letters.

Try this if you want - just follow the link below; they'll let you cancel any time.

Full disclosure: I get 100 extra points out of it..

Cheers, Dave

Thanks Ted.

FYI, just looked under the "stuff" section and there's nothing I really need but did find points can be used to donate towards some worthwhile groups including Amnesty and Care. My wife and I do that every Christmas with our bank card points - it's very easy and a big win for everyone!

Cheers, Dave.

re: Deutsche Post study on international mail delivery

Thanks Darryl.

It is a pretty interesting and easy thing to belong to. I've already discovered the Germans get their envelopes to me in Canada faster than our guys get my envelopes to buyers in the US. Maybe Canada Post should sub-contract to them.

Imagine how much money we could raise for some worthwhile charities if a bunch of us hooked up with this. I took another look and Unicef, Greenpeace, and WWF (all of which I'd support) are also there along with some other ones. I'll stay clear of commenting though to avoid starting one of our famous highly-charged sociopolitical debates. Needless to say, good can be done for others from our participation.

re: Deutsche Post study on international mail delivery

So, after about two months from sending my details in, I got this response yesterday:

"Thanks a lot for your interest in joining QENSIO and participating in our surveys.

Unfortunately, your address does not meet the requirements for our projects at this time.

We are really very sorry. Please take our apologies for the inconvenience we may have caused.

However, we will store your data for the period of 6 months and we will contact you in case your location address will meet the requirement of any new measurements.

Your personal data will of course be treated strictly confidentially, and for this purpose only.

In case you do not wish us to store your address data any longer and you do not wish to be contacted again, please just send us an email with the subject 'data deletion' to recruiting@qensio.com.

We then will delete your data immediately and will not contact you again.

Kind regards,

Your QENSIO-Team"

As can be expected, I feel so dejected about being rejected, particularly as you were all selected. Sad

Don't feel so bad Clive.

With that mad rhyming style of yours you may yet win a Nobel prize for literature!

Not sure anyone else applied through the link I posted as I haven't seen anything from them either.

Dave.

You'll have to move to Texas. They obviously turn their noses up at New York and Essexy people.

Hmmm. I'm now disturbed that they accepted me and not you two upstanding citizens.

I've always leaned towards Woody Allen's "I'd never join a club that would have a person like me as a member".

I also tried, and they didn't need me, either. They probably have more than enough US addresses.
