re: Interesting bisect arrived in my mail

Someone having a little fun. I like how the parade looks like a marching band leader with teddy bear feet when the stamps are "stacked". As for Richard Nixon, I almost expect "Kilroy was Here" to be written underneath! Should have drawn a protruding proboscis to hang over the "wall"!

Wasn`t there a sheet of misscut Nixons? Any body know if any survived?

I'm not aware, but from what I can tell fro the scan, the top and bottom don't look like they are perforated, but seem cut as if with scissors. Even if miscut, why would both the top and the bottom of a single stamp be impacted?

Perhaps this was done by someone who didn't appreciate Nixon and has shown in displeasure by cutting his head in half?

I agree with Doug. The Nixon stamps are a scissors job. Fitting for "Trickie Dickie".

Scott doesn't indicate any mis-cut errors for the stamp.

Hi Everyone;

@ Cheryl;

Is that still an intact cover? If it were mine, I would keep it as received until I could find out more about where it came from, or how it happened.

If it is no longer a complete cover, at least keep the stamps attached to that paper as proof of tied-to-cover.

It probably is worth something, to the right person.

Just sortin'....

Did you receive the cover from a philatelic friend? It is someone having some fun with their Nixon stamps.

i can't tell if the top half of the nixon stamp has perfs at top; if it's scissors on both ends, it's a fantasy creation.

Which side of the Nixon stamp had gum on it? It seems people were spitting on the wrong side. (really old bad joke)

and as far as Nixon goes, I think history will reveal that he did but a fraction of what a current candidate has already done to us!
