My dad and uncle used to be avid stamp collectors. My uncle worked for many years in the Panama Canal, under American administration. With the signing of the Torrijos Carter Treaty Canal Zone postal operation ceased. This cover is from that last day of operation. My uncle mailed several of these, they actually went into mail (the 8-Zona 4 stamp is the number of the Panamanian mail office where this arrived.

Hope you like this small piece of history.

That is history! In my search for Canal Zone 4 on cover or postcard, I've viewed 100s of cards showing the construction of the canal. Very impressive using the tools available at the time.
