It says on it that it's a postal card but I can not locate it in my Specialized Catalog. Also it 's so small. It measures 3 and 1/4 by 4 and 1/2ish. Inches of course. Thanks for any help on this. Chris of ccnddImage Not Found

re: What is this " postal card "?

Gotta say that not everyone is as careful in distinguishing "postal card" from "postcard", especially nowadays, when so few people ever see a "postal card", period.

The presence of what looks like a unique serial number - and the absence of indicia - makes me think that this is a privately-printed ticket/receipt, and not what you/I would think of as a postal card.

Can't wait to find out just how wrong I am Happy

Cheers,

Michael is right on both counts.... need to distinguish between post card and postal card. The latter is an official issuance with franking power; the other is unfranked and unofficial.

what we're seeing is likely from a show, and probably at the show where its look alike stamp was issued. The 15c printed on it gives me pause, though.

UNESCO proclaimed 1979 as the International Year of the Child. The logo is referred to as "The International Year of the Child logo," designed by UNESCO or associated organization I believe. Logo shows a child with arms up in the air holding a globe.

Looks more like a postal souvenir, or perhaps numbered prints of the original artwork in a small size.

Thanks for all the responses. This card says on it towards the lower left part: postal card. Very small lettering. Chris

Yes, I saw the words "Postal Card" but, as I mentioned, very few folks outside of the hobby will know the difference between a postal card and a post card.
