The Hialeah forgeries have been on Ebay for at least a decade and I would imagine the "Maryland forgeries" are the same type of thing. Simply put there are fools out there that would buy them but you could simply make them yourself with a good scan and your copy machine. They are not very convincing with fuzzy print on printer paper. The perfs are the hardest part for the do-it your selfer but who cares even with perfect perfs they would not fool anyone that new anything about stamps. People who actually buy these things are only helping to bring the hobby down. They are not even forgeries as advertised but photo copies.

Thanks Mitch. That makes me feel a little better. Every time I start a new country or topic, it ends up being fraught with pitfalls, forgeries and problems.

I just saw a listing on ebay that says it is a "Maryland Forgery". It also mentioned Hialeah forgeries. Are these really prevalent out there and are they good enough to be fooled into buying them?
