I just acquired the book Alice Through the Pillar Box by , *a Philatelic Phantasy* by Gerald King.. a delightful addition to my stash (collections) Have any of our members read this humorous tale or collected any of the cinderella stamps of Gerald King?
I have a few of his Snark Island stamps but none of the Alice creations...

Hi Cheryl;

You always ask the coolest questions!

I always look forward to this forum whilst savoring my morning coffee, to find something amusing that you have shared. Where is that book available?

Just sortin'....

re: Alice through the Pillar Box

Just found it on ebay while trolling for Gerald King`s creations Paid 10$ and it is delightful...He was an avid fan of Lewis Carroll and was upset that he had not been honoured with stamps (now is for sure) so he created this story and all kinds of cinderella stamps and letters from the fictional place called Wonderland.He created Alice with railway posts,(looking glass Railways) airmail letters (Haremail) lol If you remember the story Alice fell down the rabbit hole..Well her feet were so far from her head that he made a strip of stamps showing a longated Alice and of course she had to send the mail in letter form from her head to her Right foot including a transit mark....I must stop because I am spoiling the mystery of the story......
Alas I wish I had a few covers but they are few and pricey!!!!

I picked up the book for 50p in a local market here in the UK a few years ago.

Loved it.

What a great thread to find for my first visit into the StampoRama board. I love this set of cinderella stamps (and now learned what cinderella stamps are). Now I now what the postcard I mailed a fellow postcrosser at Christmas is all about (uploading image now and wishing I still had it!). I have just ordered the book on Amazon for myself! Thanks for the fun intro into the group.Image Not Found
