Would you be able to post a scan of the back side? Sounds interesting.
Extremely unlikely that it is Scott watermark 30 (Gibbons watermark 49). The perf 14 Penny Red was printed from 1854 to 1879. Scott watermark 30 (SG #49) wasn't introduced until 1880. A new penny stamp replaced the Penny Red at that time.
What is the plate number? Can't tell from the scan;
first number is a 1, third number is an 8.....can't make out the middle number.

198
The plate number (198) indicates it must be Scott Great Britain #33(1864). The plate was put to press on 27Jan1877.
There is a watermark "error" (watermark bit replaced) known as the MA/ML watermark error. But that has only been reported up to plate #96, and has not been reported for your position or late plate numbers.
Could you post a watermark pic, using whatever your preferred method (camera pic in watermark fluid, scan with fluid wetted stamp, scan of stamp backside with lid opened and using a small LED light...).
I'm afraid that you will have to convince us (or at least me) you don't have the normal Scott watermark #20. Thank you!
Here are pictures of the back. I might add that the paper seems almost brittle (but not fragile) and bit thicker than my other Pennies. I was unable to get the watermark by scanning, no matter how many ways I played with the lid. The plate number is 198.

Thanks again, everyone!
I can't find this one in my Scott's. The watermark is definitely the crown with the rounded, not pointy, crown. One picture is as is; the other has enhanced contrast to show detail.
