To detect tagging, you will need a short-wavelength UV lamp (wavelengths near ~254nm), preferably a filtered one. The consumer-grade decorative black lights won't do the job. If your stamp is tagged, you will see the front side of the stamp dimly and unevenly photoluminesce a red-orange color.
The commemorative 20Jul1969 Moon Landing postmark is common on the FDCs for this stamp. It's a back-dated commemorative cancel, and has no postal validity.
The tagging color on stamps can be colors other than red-orange as is for this stamp. Most tagging appears green. (Just didn't want someone to think that tagging was just that one color.)
First how do I determine if the tagging has been omitted, there's a big difference in value.
Second The Stamp was issued on Sep. 9,1969 but the cover also has a July 20,1969 postmark which is when the landing took place, WHY?
Any help would be appreciated....Stumped in New Jersey
