Tim, if you mean internet disconnects no. I do get disconnected from time to time accessing other sites but I am pretty sure it is something related to Goggle + Adblock. I have yet to see a concrete answer as to what causes this. I believe my provider is in the mix as well.
Greg
I have been having some delays in page loading from SOR since yesterday, and continuing this AM, although only intermittently.
Pages sometimes take up to 45seconds, but they do load.
Other web sites are not showing this problem (and load quickly)....or I haven't tried loading them when it was evident on SOR.
I'm in Montreal, by the way.
Folks should first disable all browser plugins before reporting any performance issues.
Adblock, for example, is a virus (just kidding of course but it is pretty close)
AdBlock causes your PC to run to the Adblock website on every page load and this is incredibly slow and cumbersome. If you want to block ads it is far better to simply modify your HOSTS file to redirect any ad traffic to your own local computer. It is highly effective and exponentially faster browsing for you. If anyone needs help doing this I can assist.
On my Windows 7/IE11/Chrome/FF machine this sites loads with a slightly hesitation but no timeouts. On my Win10/Edge/IE11 machine it also occasionally hesitates on initial load but this behavior has been consistent for months.

I do have adblock disabled for SOR which may or may not mean anything. My slowness occurs only with uploading auction images. No problem ever with images of entire stock cards, just single stamp images. I wind up having multiple tabs open for SOR auctions so I can have them ready to go once a listing is done. Sometimes its lightning fast, 2-3 seconds. Other times 45-60 seconds. makes no sense. I use XP and will always do so until such time that my anti virus no longer works in it. I have a boxed WIN7 that would replace it.
Greg
Hi Greg,
Have you tried a different browser on the same computer?
Don
I tried Opera last week and it seemed to be better though it is an ancient version of Opera. It too has adblock on it but probably a very old version as well. I'll use it again this afternoon. Image loading problems are intermittent and here again, I would not rule out my provider who is awful.
Just about ready to ditch Chrome for Firefox as of late the browser hangs on a "waiting for adblock" message. I get that. Google makes money with ads and companies aren't happy about their ads being blocked. Chrome crashes from time to time due to its non support of XP, though Firefox will continue to support it. I used to use Firefox years ago, and switched to Opera but too many sites weren't coding for it so I made the switch to Chrome.
Greg
I have not experienced anything.
Greg, I was the same way about XP and WIN7 like you are. Then, the motherboard on my PC with the XP failed. I had another PC that I was going to sell. It has WIN7 Professional on it. No choice; I had to use it. WIN7 is much better and faster than XP. Plus virus support and other upgrades and fixes are current with 7. Very little support anymore for XP.
Motherboard failure is the key AND what is being intentionally done by manufacturers these days.I worked for a guy whose son told him that they use inferior solder on mother boards so they do fail - and force you to buy new. I tell my wife all the time to back up her stuff as her pc is 4 years old. Mine is from 2009 and the only reason I got a newer one (this was purchased in 2013) is that I couldn't upgrade the memory in the old one. I have no speed problems with the XP (4GB upgrade) and would get another XP machine except for the virus protection issue. 23 years connected (24/7 since cable came along), never downloaded even the time patch from Microsoft (my current machine has SP3 so it has the correct time all the time) - and 23 years without a virus. I considered Apple but I can't work with squishy keyboards (I use a Razer even though I am not a gamer. Almost as good as a Northgate)
Yep,
I could not "get on" at all yesterday - SOR seemed to be the only site that was affected.
All is OK this morning.
I use Mac OSX 10.12.4 & Safari 10.1
Steve.

Hi Tim;
Yes I get them from time-to-time. I get the one with the yellow triangle and once it happens I can't do anything on SOR until I close my browser (FireFox) and reboot it.
It only happens for every 50-75 e-mails regarding forum posts. I usually happens when I click the e-mail link that takes you to the actual thread reply. Sometimes it happens when I click the submit message button. It probably doesn't like my excessively harsh and criticizing replies any more than our members do.
I'll try being nicer, and see if that helps....

Steve I didn't know Mac's took externals. I thought everything was built into the IMac. To keep on topic, I had no real problem yesterday doing my auctions using Opera. A couple of longer image uploads (about 15 seconds) but most were in the 2-3 second range. I did experience slower uploads for my full pages for approval books. First time I recall that happening.

Hi Greg
I use a Kensington "scroll Ball" and Windoze XP for AutoCad 2000 on my 10 year old iMac
And a Really nice 3 button scroll wheel Windoze mouse on my MacBook Pro laptop.
All simple "plug and play"
Cheers
Steve.
Today when I came to SOR it froze on me. I ended up closing the browser and then re-open to visit another web site to confirm it was not me. I went back to SOR and again did not load for maybe 15 seconds then started working without any issues. I was in the approvals section when it froze.
Hi Everyone,
One of our members from Australia is experiencing timeouts on a regular basis when trying to connect to Stamporama.com. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I'm trying to collect more information about it in order to track the problem down.
Regards ... Tim.
