Looking at the illustrations in my Scott Classic (2013) I see two similar stamps. Type A9 and type A10. The type A10 shows exactly like your stamp. The numeral "5" in each corner is inverted relative to the stamp design. The copy I have in my album of the 5pa shows the same inversion of the corner numbers. Perhaps this is a problem with the stamp designer who may have not been fully aware of the numbers in English.
BTW: the number "5" in Arabic is "O". A little easier to invert the Arabic version without losing the meaning. There is a difference in the calligraphy of the arabic numeral. Makes it a bit different than just an "O".

You are absolutely correct. Once I "peered" at that illustration I see that it is indeed a reversed number and it is a 26 or a variation of it. Thanks!

Started collecting Egypt a few months back. Love the stamps.
Pictured is 26c -- Perf. 13.5 X 12.5.
26 is 12.5.
Part of the 1874-75 Blurred Impressions series. For obvious reasons.
The 1872 series (with a slightly different vignette - "Para" is on the right side) is referred to as Clear Impressions. Yes, a bit clearer.
2014 Scott Catalogue lists $3.75 usd for used 26, and $4.50 for used 26c.
About as iconic an image as one could expect for Egypt.

I have just come across this stamp but little information cam I find. It is listed in my old 1947 Yvert as #14a. Scott makes no mention of it though I have seen a post where it is called a Scott #26c, though Scott says nothing about reversed numbers. Has anyone seen one of these and better yet know its catalog# and value? Thanks
