Being new to the site, I am a little confused on searching.
Question: What is the process to search for a Scott number for a specific country in auctions and approvals if the Scott number is shown? Can this be done in ONLY one step?
Are more questions and answers about "searching" available here?
Thanks.

re: Searching for a certain catalog number

Searching is detailed in the Auction Tutorial. There also is a video guide that supplements the tutorial.

Here is the link:

https://stamporama.com/forms/display_form.php?id=aututorial

We switched over to a new forms editor, and some of the formatting was lost. I'm working on learning the new editor and cleaning up the formatting in the tutorial.

re: Searching for a certain catalog number

Please may I point out that NOT ALL members use a Scott Catalogue, as there are members from many many many countries whose "standard" catalogues are Gibbons, Michel Yvert etc etc etc.

So there are many sellers who CANNOT supply Scott numbers.

That's why a country search will do much better, especially since most countries have less than 50 stamps being offered for sale.

re: Searching for a certain catalog number

Hi Everyone;

Virgil;

Welcome to Stamp-O-Rama, and thanks so much for accepting my invitation to join us. Another WebStore seller friend of mine, came over here a couple months ago. In the same identical period of time he sold almost 2,000 lots in approvals and auctions, while he sold only 500-600 in WebStore. I liked the material that you sold to me, and it was of very high quality. I know other SOR members will feel the same. Good luck with your membership and with our club.

I don't think you can search for catalog #s in approvals, like you can using textual searches in auctions. If you have only a few dozen #s in mind, try posting a want list in our classified ads section of this forum. You can also send via PM (private message), or e-mails to our members, but no spam please. Look in a members profile, and see what they have available for trading. If, for instance they state they have Western Europe available then e-mail a want list to them with #s from that area, offering either purchase or trades.

Hope to see you listing on here real soon so I can fill some more holes in my collection! And thank you again for all those great stamps!

Just stampin'....
