Pockets,
hopefully the questions diminish as the stamps increase
actually, questions will never diminish; they will, in fact, increase as you learn more, you learn how much more there is to learn

Hello Pockets;
Hi from the North woods of Michigan.
When I was in middle school, my Geography teacher was Mr. Becker. He was a stamp collector and vest pocket dealer. He would bring small approval books to school to show the students and sell them stamps for a few pennies each.
I took a large interest and was an excellent student. I could name and give the general location of every major lake, river, bay, sea, island nations, and other geographic features on the entire globe. I also was a junior collector by that age, and caught the interest of Mr. Becker. He was my home room teacher also. He gave me one of his cherished childhood albums, which I still have to this day.
So many an afternoon was spent after school and he would teach me stuff about stamps and geography. What a great way to be mentored by a great teacher. It was obvious that he was very passionate about learning and teaching.
Do you have any similar experiences with some of your students?
Still sortin'....

Hi Everyone,
Just saying hello. Recently retired history teacher, lawyer, veteran and now stamp collector. Inherited a collection of US stamps and thought this might be fun in between writing.
Have more questions than stamps I think, but am willing to be a pain in the ass and learn.
Thanks for the welcome and I look forward to immersing myself in this.
