You mention fires started by windblown power lines and that makes me wonder why the power companies have not come up with an alternative for how these lines are strung? Maybe underground lines? Or some sort of retardant that prevents sparks?

Shortly after I posted my reply, I saw a special report about the fires on The Weather Channel. I watched live as the winds blew a small flame into a large inferno. Very scary stuff.
Fires are burning n the north and south of California. Hope you get some rain relief, and soon!
My thought and prayers from Florida for everyone affected in California. What a tragedy!!

We heard on the news that Charles M. Schultz's home was destroyed in the fires. His son was interviewed and said it included all his father's memorabilia. That could be a bigger loss than the house.
Back in 1975 I was collecting the "Freedom of the Press" stamp since I was then a journalism student. I set out to get autographs of people associated with the press on the covers. I sent one to Charles Schultz and he complied by returning it autographed. I sent out about a dozen of these and he was the only one kind enough to reply!
Chris, with all the rain from the hurricanes on this side of the country, we were thinking of the west and the fires. Too bad the storms don't travel westward. The fires would be put out in minutes. Stay safe!
