Here is an unusual item:

Image Not Found

At first glance, it looked like just a piece of wood, send as a Declared Value item for 100 Swiss francs, then I noticed the nail holes around the outside and realized it must have been the top of a box.

There is a card taped to the other side, don't know if it is original, or a later note that indicates a "Longines pocket watch" (in German of course).

I don't think that would pass the USPS Machinable Item test.

From what I hear about some of these postal workers, it might encourage one of them to try a karate chop over the edge of the desk!

On another note, I am encouraged by the number of "likes" recorded on this post. I guess I'll do more "neat stuff" postings.

Andrew Carnegie Trust ( One of many ) now inactive in Germany
