With help from many generous SOR members, the Holocaust Stamps Project at Foxborough Regional Charter School (in Foxboro, Massachusetts, USA) has surpassed the goal set in 2009 to honor the lives of 11,000,000 Holocaust victims, by collecting one stamp for every man, woman, and child who was killed. But this unique educational initiative is far from complete!

The stamps’ diversity (from donors in 48 states and 23 countries) has been used to teach history, tolerance, acceptance, and respect for differences. Dozens of kindergarten to grade 12 students have been creating a series of 18 stamps collages based on the events and effects of the Holocaust. Upon completion of the artworks, the HSP plans to move the entire collection of stamps and the collages to a permanent venue where they can be professionally displayed and serve as a source of inspiration, reflection, and learning for the public.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Thanks to an SOR member who’s long-supported the HSP, this project has expanded and will continue with a new base in Canada! HOLOCAUST STAMPS PROJECT (CANADA) has been established to replicate the extraordinary opportunities for learning that were created in Foxboro, MAHSPC is now seeking your unwanted or damaged stamps, in any amount! The mailing address for stamp donations is:
434 Christina Street North
Sarnia, ON N7T 5W2 Canada

We, at the FRCS Holocaust Stamps Project, are pleased and proud to provide support to SOR member, David Pangborn (“lemaven”) and his colleague Craig Allen (“holocauststamps”) as we move forward in this important philately-based undertaking!

Thank you both for your great efforts towards this new project. I had been saving stamps for another shipment to Foxborough but missed the 11M cutoff and had been looking for another outlet. Now this is a good opportunity to contribute to the Holocaust recognition! Good luck.

re: ANNOUNCING International expansion of Holocaust STAMPS Project

Thank you Charlotte for your vision in creating the original Holocaust Stamps Project. And thank you Jamie Droste for your leadership in carrying on this project through the Foxborough Regional Charter School.

David and I are excited to be able to continue this legacy, and I am looking forward to providing Stamporama members - an important community of donors and like-minded concerned citizens - with regular updates and information.

Over the next few weeks, we will be developing a Facebook page and a new website as we continue to work in partnership with local educational institutions (our structure in Canada is a bit different from the USA).

We are open for donations, and welcome the continued support of Stamporama members in this important - and now truly international - project.

Our mailing address is:

Holocaust Stamps Project (Canada)
434 Christina Street North
Sarnia, ON N7T 5W2 Canada

re: ANNOUNCING International expansion of Holocaust STAMPS Project

Our first Stamporama donation for the new "international" initiative!

David Pangborn/"lemaven" had another batch of stamps set aside for the original HSP and dropped them off here this afternoon.

[Full disclosure: I am an agent for David's major client - Craievich Financial Services in Sarnia Ontario. They have agreed to provide storage space, and cover the costs for postage, internet/website, and other related expenses incurred by this project. I will be helping him with public communications, including updating Stamporama members, so he can keep his other activities separate.]

We have already gotten some messages from other Stamporama members about potential donations and are looking forward to receiving them. If you donate, please let me know if you are okay with me publishing your name and/or a scan on Stamporama or our upcoming Facebook/Webpage sites.

Thanks, Craig.

Craig,

I understood, perhaps incorrectly, that you had a mail drop in Port Huron. If so, would you please let us know that address. If I don't here back in the next week or so, I'll post my donation to Sarnia.

Thanks David.

Craig is off for an extended Christmas break. We were hoping to set up a mail drop across the bridge from his office in Sarnia (in Port Huron MI) but haven't had a chance yet.

I'll ask him to take another look when he gets back, but using the Sarnia address for now would be great.
