Hi mbo1142,
These are listed in the Fischer catalogue.
They are listed under:
Poczta Osiedli Polskich we Wloszech
which literally translates as: Post Office of Polish Settlements in Italy
Issued in 1946 They were issued for use by the Polish 2nd Corps. There are 9 stamps in this issue. The perfs are 14 and are described as 'Harrow Perforations'.
There are more stamps issued for this category, including overprinted airmails and minisheets.
As for value I can't help as all my prices are in Zloty. But they do seem to get good prices on eBay. Keep an eye out there and see what they go for.
As an aside the Polish for Italy is the same as for ice cream: Wlody
Hope this helps.
Kim
Hey Mel.
I found a few of those "Italii" Polish stamps recently. Pretty sure I eventually found them in Scott's (under Italy or Poland, can't remember). I think there were just 6 or so different stamps and then with or without overprints.
I'll see if I can find more info, but away this weekend.
Dave.
These are shown in the Stamp Encyclopaedia Poland under the heading: Camp post - Polish citizens in Italy. Fischer 1-9 Issued in 1946.
