A lot of the definitive issues from the different Australian States were issued with several different watermarks and perforations and will usually vary in price. However, the stamp you have shown is not in good shape and considered faulty by most or all collectors. Therefore, the value is next to nil.

I am quickly finding out that I have albums of rubbish!
Ohhh well they are still fun to look at.
At least now i know that there is no point posting any more pics!

It is a stamp from Victoria, and I concur with Larry.
Even if it had a scarce watermark, the condition it is in would render the stamp valueless.

If they are to you, still fun to look at despite their lack of monitary value, then you are collecting for the right reason. Many members concentrate too much on value, as they intend to retire on the value of their collections. I myself will die with my collection and altho I care about condition, will give a good home to any stamp I like or that "is fun to look at", regardless what others may think of the stamps.

I wouldn't worry too much Stu. Regardless what you have, if the stamps perk your interest, then that is great. It is a great hobby where you can spend countless hours enjoying them and doing research etc. Hope you plan to stay with it. There are a lot of people in this group who are well versed on the hobby. Enjoy.

Hi Stu,
I agree with Tusken. If you like the stamps that's all that matters - it's your collection. They may not 'make' the collections of some Stamporama members, but that doesn't matter. Enjoy what you have, add to them over the years, possibly change some to 'better' copies if you want to, but there is no 'law' that says you must. Don't expect to retire on the proceeds of selling them - very few of us would ever get back what we have spent on our hobby - the value is in the fun we had collecting them, finding out about the people/events/places on them, and just looking at them. One of my prized possessions is an album that my mother gave me when I was a child just staring out on the collecting journey - the stamps are pretty CTOs that we all had at some time, some tatty ones, some pretty ones, a few in good condition, some on the wrong pages (I still have problems with some countries) and I don't suppose that selling them to a dealer would get me enough money for a can of coke, but to me they are priceless. As far as I can see there is only one rule in stamp collecting - enjoy what you have.

Merv, that is very interesting because i dont mind the odd can of coke myself. Little did I know that one of the currencies used to transact stamps was coke! Thank you for the enlightenment.Members can expect to recieve numerous offers from me after my next trip to the supermarket!
All jokes aside I am quite happy with the stamps i have. I will enjoy researching them and if i come across one worth two cans of coke you can expect to see an ecstatic new post from me on this website!
