Here is Australia Posts first issue for 2018.A Christmas Island, Lunar New Year,Year of the Dog. Issued on the 8th of January in sheet, S/S and Zodiac Sheet.1 x $1-00 and 1 x $3-00 .
The Zodiac sheet contains another 10 stamps of various values.I haven't been able to obtain one yet so I can't give you a description.

Here is Australia Post's latest issue.Released on the 18th Jan More of the "Australian Legends" entitled Legends of the Small screen. Probably none are known to our American cousins,but well known here in Australia.5 x $1-00 in sheet and S/A booklets and of course each one has their own booklet .

Afraid I have never liked Bert Newton ,he just never appealed to me.Nor John Laws whom I think was American.Used to love watching The Paul Hogan Show with Delvene Delaney and her now husband, John Cornell though.

Regarding "small screen" legends, I would love to see Essie Davis on a stamp, perhaps garbed in one of her Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries outfits. And holding her gold-plated, pearl-handled revolver.

Are you sure you've got the right story there Tim? I don't recollect Bert Newton being on Bobby Limb's shows. Once he left Channel 7, he was Graham Kennedy's off-sider , and later again Don Lane's off-sider, apart from a few of his own shows.
Brian, were you thinking of Don Lane, rather than John Laws?

Apparently, but I do not know if this is true, it was at the suggestion of Channel nine that Don Lane use a stage name, as many stars have.
But I agree with you, it was an interesting piece of Trivia, it is like a lot of people do not know that Nicole Kidman is not Australian by Birth, she was to quote Bruce Springsteen, "Born in the USA", so she is American, then Australian, because her parents are Australian, so she holds dual citizenship, as do many of us.(I was born in New Zealand)
Even Darryl Somers changed his name for TV.
I love trivia,
I actually lived a few blocks from the Gibbs Brothers, (Yes the BEE GEES) when they lived in Queensland, and I also went to the same Catholic School as Mel Gibson, when his father brought the family out from the USA.

Don Lane chose his stage name long before he came to Australia. Apparently he took the name Lane in tribute to his favourite singer, Frankie Laine.
As far as I know, Daryl Somers was born Daryl Somers.

I remember reading the story in the now defunct Australian Post years ago.

On the 17th of April Australia Post issued a set of stamps celebrating Queen Elizabeth's 92nd birthday

Australia Post have been busy .Today the 1st of May AP issued 2 new sets ,first is a $1-00 cricket stamp in sheet format only.
The second set (which I quite like) 4 x $1-00 Cloudscapes Issued as Sheet,S/S and a S/A booklet for each stamp!!!
And here's one of my Cloudscapes taken in Thailand on a recent holiday.

I like the Cloudscapes issue -
reminds me of the U.S. Cloudscapes version that came out a while back....
...I believe when US stamps were around 37¢ or so.
If anyone might happen to have a scan of the US ones, a side-by-side comparison
of the two issues would be interesting.

Issued today 4th of Sept. Australia Post released a set of stamps entitled Vintage Motorcycles 4 x $1-00 stamps issued as sheet ,S/A booklet for each stamp and a S/A roll of 100 .
As I am unable to get to the PO i have used the image from the stamp bulletin to show the stamps.

On the 20th of September Australia Post issued a special $5-00 S/A booklet in aid of the drought ravaged farmers.It contains five $1-00 stamps ,$2-00 of the sale of each booklet goes to the Drought Relief Appeal.Well done AP.

On the 25th of September AP released for the Australian Antarctic Territory a set of four stamps featuring the RSV Aurora Australis ice breaker 2 x $1-00 and 2 X $2-00.

I am not sure of the release date for this new set of International stamps .New stamps for the new international rates which kick in ,in October 3 stamps $3-00, $4-60,and $7-50.It's nice to see an intermediate rate back,instead of a jump from 50 grams up to 250 grams which I think is 150 grams for $4-60 instead of $9-00.

On the 23rd of October AP released two sets of stamps the first 2 x $1-00 "100 Years of Repatriation"issued in sheetlets of ten.
The second set of 3 x $1-00 " Lighthouses of Sydney" ,issued as sheet, S/S ,S/A booklet and a S/A roll of 100.

Well we have come to the end of another year and today 1st of November Australia Post issued its traditional Christmas stamps first we have the Australian issue,in total 7 stamps 5 sheet and S/S and 2 x 65c S/A (which my PO hadn't yet received)
The sheet stamps are 3 x 65c 1 x $2-00 & 1 x $2-30
The second issue is for Christmas Island in all 4 stamps 2 x sheet & a S/S 1 x 65c & 1 x $2-00 these have also been issued in S/A form the 65c in a sheetlet of 10 and the $2-00 in a sheetlet of 5.

On the 23rd of October AP released two sets of stamps the first 2 x $1-00 "100 Years of Repatriation"issued in sheetlets of ten.
