Just came across stamps from the 70s, dating back to 1840s. So excited to be able to share my numerous questions. First up, what's with the Belgium Lion with two tails, I love this one, is he worth anything used? And greetings from Windsor,Ontario directly across a mile wide river from the Motor City, Detroit, MI !!

Welcome cococooks1,
As a newbie, consider checking out a stamp catalog (library/bookstore/merchandise sale) in the country/countries that interest you. Then check our membership listing for folks that share your interests. Then boldly reach out to them. You will find that this hobby is a never-ending search/source of interest. We are all here to help & share.
Best,
Dan C.

re: just starting out

cococooks1, Welcome to the World of stamps. There are many stamps from Belgium that depict the Lion but I could find only one with two tails after a quick look through my collection. When asking for help in identifying stamps you need to give a much information on the stamp as is possible. Information like denomination, color(s) what the stamp depicts, any dates on stamp or cancel etc. A scan of the stamp is of course the best way for us to I.D. the stamp. I have my collection to help people see most all of the stamp of the world up to whatever date the collection goes. I have every regular issue stamp for Belgium thru 1976 and most from then to 1997. You should be able to find you stamp there with little trouble.

Below is the stamp I'm taking a guess is your stamp. It is from 1912, Scott catalog #94.
It catalogs for 25 cents either in mint or used. This is another way of saying it is basically worthless because there were so many printed making them very common.
25 Cents is the minimum value that Scott gives a stamp. This means that the stamp is very common and easy to find if anyone happens to be looking for it. The value generally represents the time and trouble it takes a dealer to keep it in stock.
