There is a show on the Science TV channel called, "What on Earth". The show depicts satellite images of strange geological occurrences and man-made structures on Earth. About a month ago they had a complete show regarding the concrete airmail arrows. If I remember correctly, they showed arrows in 3 different states, all out west. Very interesting.

Yes, this is quite an interesting aside to the early airmail days in the US.

I hope to someday take a trek across the USA to visit the last known remaining ones.
There are many of the arrows still out there, and also a couple restored towers!
I did a search but couldn't find a thread about airmail arrows - here is a link to a brief article on remaining dual concrete arrows in California from the early days of US Airmail. If you live in the Bay Area maybe it is time for a picnic!
