Hi,

The four basic labels without "LONDON DELIVERY" and "EUROPE" were issued as part of this set of six in 1962:

These were supposed to be from the very small uninhabited island of Carn Iar in the Summer Isles off the north west of Scotland.

The name "carn iar" appears across the top of these stamps but is hidden under the overprint.

I'm afraid I don't know the history behind your overprint set though I've seen them before.

I wonder if the overprinted set was an attempt to cash in on the 1971 UK postal strike by someone who had a stock of the original stamps to hand?

Lots of weird labels were created at that time of the strike, some for genuine postal services but many others just to make money from collectors.
