who do you admire first?
Mel or Liz, two of our most generous peeps? Dave, for setting this up? or Charlotte for starting it up initially.
Ah, big kiss for all of you lovely folks.
Proud to be in the same universe with you
David
Just my personal opinion...
But I give huge props to Charlotte Sheer for creating the idea in the first place, and Jamie Droste (her partner at Foxborough Regional Charter School) for the implementation. How many people have an inspiration they actually put into effect - and with such impactfulness?
Yes, Mel & Liz have been generous. But I would be remiss in not acknowledging that so too have been fellow SOR members Edith Robbins and Jules Jelev.
Then there are the 3 non-members (original Holocaust Stamps Project donors). One of whom sent about 10 stamps on-paper - and another who paid over $40 to send a big box of on-paper even though he said initially he was on a fixed income and didn't know if he could afford to pay the postage.
Those donations quite frankly hit me emotionally as generous acts considering where they were coming from. Especially as a counterpoint to another former HSP donor who decided not to send her "annual donation" because we could not provide a tax deduction certificate for the dollar value her Accountant had laboriously calculated using the Scotts Catalog values applied to bulk lots of common US stamps.
I thank you, David, for your kind words. And thank all those who have supported this project.
Dave.
Would it be possible to show where to send stamps for the project
"...show where to send stamps for the project..."
Two MAJOR donations received from Stamporama members already this month.
Mel Bohannon ("mbo1142") - big box of off-paper.
Liz Jones ("Patches") - huge box of on-paper, nicely organized into baggies.
Many thanks to Liz and Mel for getting us off to a good start this month.
Craig.
